Well Friday night was a disaster. We got an early night, hoping for a solid few hours sleep, but at 4:30am someone woke up. I tried to find her dummy to soothe her, but she's apparently hidden them all, so I dumped her in bed with an unhappy Melissa and went searching for a dummy.
It was about 6am before she nodded off, in our bed. Naturally she had more space than either me or Melissa, so much so that Melissa moved her head from top to bottom, so that, at 8:11am when I woke up late for the garage, it took a moment for me to realise what had happened.
I drove to the garage, late, and arrived apologetic at 8:31am. I dropped the car off and wandered over to the handily placed nearby Starbucks. I couldn't decide between a plain croissant or an almond croissant for breakfast so I had both, finished my coffee and stepped outside to make the long walk into the town centre. At that point it started raining, so I went back into Starbucks and got another coffee, then my mother in law came to collect me.
We were halfway home when the garage phoned and said the car was ready; they couldn't do the MOT as the emissions testing machine was broken, so we went back, I collected it, and then drove it home.
I got home, made Melissa and Penny some lunch and then later on we went to see Melissa's mum and her cousin "mee-ya". They played extensively, and while Melissa's mum wasn't paying attention, Melissa and I snuck off.
We got home, cleaned the house and sat down to watch some Game of Thrones. 3 episodes later it was about 8pm and Melissa had The Voice final and some other shit to watch, so I watched some stuff and then went to bed.
We woke up at about 9:45am. Bliss.
I made myself tea and breakfast, then went to (the) ASDA for some essentials, and then Melissa and I basically waited round for Penny to come home.
It was weird not having her here. Too quiet. I've forgotten when we used to do before Penny came along (no, not that.)
She arrived just as my parents came to visit and we had a lovely time with tea and biscuits. Penny showed my mum and dad her exercises, and sang them a song before they left.
Once they'd gone Melissa got ready for work and me and Penny had tea before Melissa left.
Penny's had her bath, her bottle (courtesy Melissa's dad, who brought round the milk Melissa's mum had tried to steal from us). She is currently in bed. I'm not convinced she's asleep, but I hope she is.
Monday tomorrow. Lovely.
