Day 794

A Thursday like any other. Although I did argue with a man on the phone that it was Wednesday. I was both embarrassed and pleased when I eventually realised he wasn't taking the piss.

After lunch we were loaded into coaches and taken to a secluded location, made to dig out own graves and then were beaten on the back of the heads with shovels. I'm writing this from beyond the grave.

Not really. But the first part of that paragraph was true. We were loaded onto the coaches and then taken up to a place called Holland Hall where we were told the future of our jobs, and our roles within the new organisational design of the company.

They've shaken up the whole IT department, and there's a few unlucky people without jobs at all. Me and the guys in my team have kept our jobs, but we're going to have to relocate to Manchester some time within the next 12 months, which will be quite interesting.

Anyway, after that bombshell we headed back to work discussing the news, then I walked home, via (the) ASDA for some beers.

It's been a glorious day, and I can't imagine better circumstances under which to receive such news. Spring is truly here.

Penny's being put to bed by Melissa and I'm chugging down a beer. She's got TV to catch up on and I've got a movie to decide upon. I'm glad a nice long weekend follows tomorrow. It's been a hectic week.
