Last night started badly and ended... Well not worse, it got a little better, but I did feel like weeping at times.
Once I'd fought Penny to sleep I did my chores and settled down to play my game. I came to a ludicrously hard bit and ended up very annoyed. I think my XBOX sensed this as it froze and stopped working completely. Fingers crossed it's working later. I emptied the dishwasher then, and made my lunch. But guess who'd eaten the last packet of Crisps? A certain insomniac toddler, that's who. I got over that crushing blow and settled down to watch some TV before bed, and drifted off around 11:30pm, hoping to start the new day afresh.
And so it was that at 6:30am or so I got up, with Penny, made some tea and toast, showered and went to work.
Work was alright, but towards the end of the day... I've been tasked with making a display for a seating plan for a do in the next couple of weeks. This does not fall under the remit of my role profile, it's extra curricular. Anyway, I set about planning the display. Please note, I did NOT come up with the seating arrangements, I'm merely creating an easy-to-ready display for them. Well, someone got wind of this and they weren't happy with their positioning. I drafted in some external help who only clouded the issue when they drafted in further help, and so I spent about 40 minutes this afternoon getting stressed out working out who can sit where and next to who and how many people are on a table and what if the room is too small, while someone who will remain nameless (it was Andrea) suggested mental plans, like an ice rink, and one big table and 12 satellite tables with a couple on each, and having one table outside, and one in the hall ... All sorts of things that, to be honest with you, I didn't sign up for. Plans are on hold, anyway, for the seating arrangements, not the do, because there's an unknown element who is confirming their attendance next week. This gives me plenty of time to get worked up further.
Melissa picked me up after work. She's stressing too, as she can't find a dress to wear for the above do. I was sorted weeks ago, obviously. Anyway, we had tea, Penny's still not eating a great deal, but she's eating some stuff. Like just the orange bits in Jaffa Cakes, and Frubes. Melissa went to work and Penny trashed the living room. She was knackered and at abut a 6:45pm I brought her up to bath and get in bed. Fingers crossed it's all gone according to plan today and I'll be gaming by 8pm.
Thursday tomorrow. This time last week it would have been Friday. Or something.
