Bank Holiday Monday. You'd think it would be a nice and relaxing morning, no? No. Penny didn't go to sleep until about 10:30pm. Malteaser Bunnies are definitely a bad thing for Penny. She was going ballistic. Proper hypo. Proper annoying.
We placted her with some garlic bread from my takeout, and she read her new book, and eventually we won. She slept.
It was about 8am before she awoke. We lay in bed for 20 minutes, and then I got up with her leaving Melissa, who'd been up for most of the night on or near a toilet, to lay in bed feeling sorry for her self.
10am arrived and me and Penny came to the mutual decision that she was due a nap. Of course, I hadn't read the small print, and she wanted to tit about for 30 minutes or so before sleeping. At 10:35am she was asleep, and I was free to clean up the mess we'd (she'd) left in the playroom.
Melissa reluctantly dragged herself out of bed and had a shower, then I had a shower just as Penny was waking up. We got dressed and headed out to Mel's mum and dads for Easter dinner. Yes, I know we're a day later, but if the clocks can fuck us about, we can fuck about with our calendars too.
Once we'd chomped down a hearty dinner we headed home, Melissa never too far from a toilet. Penny had some of her tea, and we watched the CBBC ballet which I enjoyed, even if Penny and Melissa didn't.
Penny's had her bath, and is in her room with Melissa reading her new book (again) and having her milk, before settling down for bed.
Fingers crossed she nods off OK. Melissa's off work tonight due to the bank holiday. We had hoped to watch a film with a glass of wine but she's elected to alternate between lying in bed feeling sorry for herself, and dashing to the toilet. I'm hitting up Bioshock. I may complete it tonight. I may not.
Back to work tomorrow. I'm wearing my excited face, obviously.
