Day 676 and 677

Friday and Monday.

I was asked (somewhat ironically) yesterday, if I still do my blog every day. I replied in the positive... And then when didn't I do yesterday? Yeah. I know. Ironic, innit?

Friday was good. Penny slept OK, waking up just before I got in the shower. I got a lift out of lateness rather than laziness.

It was a fairly busy day. I ignored my father in law and his brother on purpose at lunch time, or that's how he tells the story anyway.

Melissa and Penny picked me up and we went to (the) ASDA where we bought something for tea and Penny tried to buy a new pair of shoes, a birthday card for a nephew and one for an uncle. We explained to her she had no source of income and was therefore unable to purchase anything, and she seemed little crestfallen. Then Melissa escaped and Penny and me wandered round looking for her, Penny shouting "Mum!" every so often. We spotted her, paid for our food and left.

We got home and put Penny down for a nap while we blitzed the house, then she woke up (I woke her up) and we bathed her and chucked some PJs on her.

Then, a little late, Angela and Michael came round for tea. Penny put on a show, playing her piano and singing and generally being ace, she had a slice of pizza bigger than her head, and then I put her to bed when it was clear she was shattered.

Before we knew it it was 10:20pm. We said "bye" to our guests and then, basically, went to bed. Knackered.

Saturday morning was also good. Penny woke up just before 8am and we put her in bed with us for milk and shitty Disney TV, then we got up.

More cleaning, before my mum and dad arrived for an early morning visit. They brought cherry bakewells. There's 2 left. Penny had a bit of one earlier. The marzipan sent her loopy. Fun. Big hugs and kisses, and then my mum and dad headed out and we put Penny down for a npa.

We then set about getting rid of everything Christmassy. I nearly died putting some stuff in the loft. Fun.

We gave Penny an early bath, for no real reason, except Melissa was having one and Penny seemed keen to join in, After that we tried to get Penny to have a nap. Nope.

I cooked up a mean cottage pie for tea and Melissa's mum joined us. She said it was nice too. And Penny had some, and seemed to enjoy it. Pleasing.

I'm writing this a little early, as as soon as Penny's in bed I want to watch a film that's almost 3 hours long.

Hope you're all having and continue to have a great weekend, and I'll probably be back tomorrow.
