Normality has resumed, in every way. Gone are Penny's 12 and 13 hour sleeps, and lie ins. She awoke last night at about 10pm, more or less ruining the last 10 minutes of the show me and Melissa were watching.
We tried valiantly to get her back to sleep, but she had wind, and she wasn't settling until she'd farted enough hot air to launch a Chinese lantern.
We put her back in her bed just before midnight and left her to whinge and moan for about 30 minutes and then she nodded off. As did I. With slightly less whinging and moaning.
Soon, it was time for my alarm to go off, and for me to get up and wander to work in a daze. It's been a busy day, but it's dragged. I walked home at 4pm and found Melissa and Penny playing shop. Penny loves her new kitchen, and her Minnie Mouse grocery shop... thing.
Melissa cooked tea, which turned out to be the last of the Christmas party food.
Melissa sneaked out to work at about 5:45pm while I was bathing Penny, who'd refused to sleep this afternoon. She was tired, whingey, and I think teething, so, yeah. She's asleep. Who knows how long it'll last. Probably just long enough to ruin the end of whatever film I decide to watch tonight.
Now, my chores this evening are minimal. They more or less limited to "doing the dishes" but tomorrow is normally recycling day. I've a feeling it might have been postponed until tomorrow, so I've set myself the task of locating the timetable they sent out before Christmas. If tomorrow's recycling day, I'm in trouble.
Hold tight, only 2 days left.
