I got a text message from Ellen offering me a lift. I replied "No chance I'm getting in the car with you." and invited her to join me on my walk. She accepted and we trudged to work through the snow.
Work passed slowly and without incident. I was tired, after a relatively sleepless night. I left at 3:30pm, claiming back 30 minutes from the half day I took on Friday, popping in to (the) ASDA for milk. I got home, marvelled at the worst snowman in the world, dug the car out for Melissa, then cooked tea for me and Melissa and Penny. Penny has, today, we think, swallowed the spray part of the top of one of Melissa's perfumes. Her breath smells lovely, and the cap is nowhere to be seen. Melissa's going to have to sift through poo for a few days to see if she can find it.
We'd just finished eating when I got a phone call from work. Melissa was getting ready for work so it was just me and Penny. Fortunately the phone has a "mute" button so they couldn't hear Penny screaming "HIYA!" and other gibberish.
Melissa left for work and then I bathed Penny, whilst fixing the baby monitor she'd some how turned to "hold" mode, whilst turning on the "vibrate" function. I didn't even know the thing had a vibrate function. Mel's mum wants me to sort out her new phone. I'm going to get Penny to do it.
This evening I have a bin to put out. I'm not sure what other antics I might undertake. Sleeping, though, is top of my list of priorities. After the bin.
