Day 691 and 692

After a good nights sleep for all three of us, I got up with Penny to Skype my mum and dad while Melissa had a further lie in. Once she was up I decided to brave the snow and drove to (the) ASDA for cat litter and some other essentials. Once I got out of our road there was very little snow and ice anywhere, and it was a doddle to drive.

As I left Melissa had decided to put Penny down for a nap. It took her over an hour. Penny was screaming her head off. Apparently, she didn't want to nap. She eventually nodded off for a couple of hours which gave Melissa chance to tidy the house and me chance to watch a DVD.

I made us lunch and then Penny woke up. Melissa went to get ready to go out and me and Penny watched TV and played noisy games.

After a bit I got ready and went to pick Tracy and Dave up, then brought them back here where we drank Cava. Mel's mum and dad were looking after Penny so me, Mel, Tracy and Dave could go out for birthday drinks for Melissa and Tracy's birthday. Melissa's dad kindly played at taxis, too.

We went to The Hop Vine in Burscough, where I occasionally go with Howard for the pub quiz. We ate. Loads. It was dead tasty. We also drank beer off paddles. Me and Dave did anyway.

Six different slices of a pint. Very good.

We got home not too late and bid our friends goodbye, thanking Mel's mum and dad for babysitting, and then it was time for us to go to bed too.

I've basically been awake since 3:30am. I ate too much and my body wouldn't let me sleep. It also decided that the massive onion rings were going to give me crippling indigestion.

Never mind, Penny woke up at 7:30am to shout it better. We lounged in bed for a an hour or so, then took Penny down for breakfast.

A little after 10am it was nap time. For all of us. I still didn't sleep great, but I felt better when when I woke up. Better enough to agree to go to Pipsqueaks, which is a soft foam kids play area thing. We met Emma and Stu there who'd brought Harry with them and Penny and Harry ran about playing for a bit. I ended up in the large foam area with Penny, shouting and screaming "HIYA!" over and over in a plastic tube tunnel thing. My head. Sore.

We brought Penny home then, Melissa made us all some tea and then she went to work leaving me and a tired Penny to watch TV for a bit, before she decided she wanted to have her bath.

Bathed, bottled and in bed. I'm knackered. I might watch a film, I might just get into bed and fall asleep with a book on my face.

See you tomorrow!

Oh, by the way, Penny can now mount and dismount the couch. We can no longer leave her in her playroom unsupervised. Awesome.
