Day 653

Wednesday. Penny slept ok, but had an episode at about 11pm. We sorted her out, eventually, but it was 1am before any proper sleeping was done.

My alarm went off at 7:10am and, because of the way I'd slept on my hands, I had trouble turning it off. In the end it was more of a fluke than anything.

I walked to work and honestly thought at some points I was going to succumb to the elements. It was freezing. It's definitely been colder on paper; I remember one year my hair freezing, for example, but it felt bitter this morning. I expect the cold wind didn't help.

Work was boring. There's not much going on at the moment, and as a result, there's not much to do except bide ones time until 4pm. We did, however, live through 12:12:12, which is the last time the date will have the same number all the way through until 2101, which is 89 years away (if I've done the maths correctly).

After work I walked to (the) ASDA for cooked chicken and pita bread, then walked home and made some chips and then stood around waiting for Melissa and Penny to get home. They'd been at Melissa's mum's golf club's Christmas party for kids and grandkids. Penny danced away, chatted away (albeit unintelligibly), tried to steal balloons, and generally had a good time.

They got home just as I was serving up tea which we ate somewhat hastily, and then chucked Penny in the bath, washed her and fed her.

This evening Melissa's planning on wrapping presents and I'm planning on either watching a film or playing some XBox.

Thursday tomorrow, just in case you're not paying attention.
