Day 643

Sunday.

Penny slept well last night, despite being so poorly. She woke up hungry at about 10:30 but she was back in bed and asleep at midnight, and then awake again at almost 8am. I could have done with another 3 hours sleep. My chest is laden with dust and phlegm and I can't really breath properly. I know, Penny's not whining  so neither should I, but if she had a blog, I'm sure she would.

We had breakfast and I went to the tip to dispose of some (loads of) cardboard, an old laptop, an old hard drive and some other electrical shite then came home and watched Christmas films with Penny while Melissa had a shower. At 11am I walked to (the) ASDA as we had no cat food. I bought loads of the stuff and regretted walking.

By the time I got home Penny was down for her nap. I made myself some cheese on toast and a cuppa and Melissa's mum popped in to see the Christmas trees.

Penny woke up a bit later, just before Tracy and Dave arrived for a cuppa. She loved Dave. Hated Tracy. She hasn't seen them for a while so it was a good opportunity for her to show off all her new tricks (including walking, and her reindeer impression, as well as shouting "Santa!" at everyone and anything that moves).

They left, and then my mum and dad arrived. It's been all go today. My dad teased poorly Penny with chocolate and my mum and Melissa berated him. Then he played a new game with her that involved putting a piece of paper in a box, and then tipping it out. It was wild.

Before they left Penny gave them both a big sloppy kiss and then it was just the 3 of us.

I made a delicious butternut squash soup for tea, with a chili through in for warmth. Penny had carbonara, fruit, some pizza and a yoghurt. Greedy. It's nice to see her eat though. She's been less snotty today, but just now, when Melissa put her to bed, she was knackered, hot and grouchy. She went out like a light. I'm sure she'll be up again by 11pm.

Here's a photo of chocolaty snot face :

See you tomorrow!
