Day 634 and 635

A Friday and a Saturday for you today.

Friday saw Penny sleeping in until about 9am. Annoying. I walked to work and, well, worked. It was a moderately busy day and I couldn't wait to finish at 4pm.

Melissa picked me up; she'd dropped Penny at her mums house where she'd be staying over night. We were going out with Tracy and Dave for a combined birthday celebration for me and Dave. We'd have done it sooner but they're social animals, and their calendar is constantly full.

We went to via Dave's dads car to the High Moor in Wrightington. It was pretty good. Menu was fairly varied, service was alright, although a little slow. The wine was good. The bill wasn't too expensive and the company was above par.

We had a great time and got a relatively good nights sleep thrown in for good measure.

I woke up fairly fresh at 9am, got out of bed went to get some milk, then I prepared breakfast in before for Melissa before she got up and cleaned the house, then went to collect Penny.

Just before 1am my mum and dad arrived and we took them to The Concourse to show them the sights. We bought Christmas decorations. Sigh.

They were all intrigued by the Tweenies ride.

We had coffee, then, as if The Concourse wasn't good enough, we took them to (the) ASDA where I made my mum buy sun-dried tomatoes and stuffed sweet peppers.

We all had a lovely afternoon and got home just as the torrential rain we'd been promised kicked off.

We said bye to my mum and dad and then Penny and Melissa had a play while I made a dead good chicken and mushroom soup. With noodles, obviously.

Penny was knackered by this point. Still not walking. But soon, we reckon. She's definitely more sturdy and confident on her feet. She'd not slept all afternoon and so was flagging badly by 6pm. We chucked her in the bath, got her out, dressed her, fed her... Bedtime.

This evening Melissa and I will be watching a film. Who knows what delights tomorrow will hold.
