Day 620 and 621

Friday was good. Penny slept well, I was marginally late for work, and was busy for most of the day. I walked home in the rain, and soon after I arrived there Melissa and Penny came home. Melissa had dyed her  hair a rather radical orange colour. It looks great, even though she doesn't think so. She'd been talking about doing it for ages, and finally got round to it yesterday.

Penny was in fine fettle, and will now shout for Mr Tumble and Santa if asked. Smart arse.

I left them at about 5:30, drove to (the) ASDA for petrol and then headed to Ormskirk to pick up John. I collected him on time, and then we drove to Manchester in the pissing rain to see Bon Iver perform live at the MEN Arena. It was a great show, and great atmosphere.

We left after the encore, drove back here where we had a beer and watched a Stewart Lee DVD.

Penny was awake when we got back and so we were extra quiet while Melissa settled her, and then, once we'd all gone to bed (just after 1am) Penny woke up again, at 4:22am. I did my best to soothe her but she was having none of it and she didn't go back to sleep until about 6am. Fair play to her though, she a) didn't wake John up, and b) didnt wake up until nearly 10am.

I dropped John off at Ormskirk station just after 9am, then headed home via McDonalds for a small breakfast for Melissa and myself, and then it was off to the circus to see Mackey, Monnie, Danald, Daysee, Gooty, Oggle Poggle and Ipsy Doozy. It was basically a bunch of people in outfits that differed greatly in quality, doing piss poor impressions of the people they sort of resembled. It was billed as a "tribute". Presumably so as avoid the wrath of Disney and the BBC and the other copyright holders they were blatantly ripping off. Whatever, the kids liked it.

After that we went Christmas shopping up in to Wigan, then home via the in laws for a cuppa.

Penny took her first 3 unaided steps today to the closing scenes of Return of the Jedi. It was a lovely moment. She best be walking by Christmas. Lazy.

This evening, Melissa and I are going to watch a film.

Contine to have a great weekend and I'll be back tomorrow...
