I enjoyed the solitude of the couch with wine and pizza for most of the evening, occasionally breaking from it to email Lea and chat on Facebook with my brother over potential future Spider-Man movie plots.
I watched Empire of the Sun, which I hadn't seen before, and really enjoyed. That young lad, Christian Bale, will win an Oscar one day. Mark my words.
I slept well enough and a little after 9am Melissa, the girls and Penny came home. We got ready and went in to Liverpool for lunch and shopping. I went looking for comic books with Gracie and visited 3 different shops all in different areas of town in the time it took for Melissa and Maggie to mooch around Primark. After that we went to Nando's (a load of shit, really), and then spent an inordinate amount of cash on American sweets in a fancy-pants sweet shop.
Home, then. We dropped the girls off and now Melissa and I are going to have a relaxing evening before I go away tomorrow evening for 2 days with "the lads".
I'll be back on Sunday, God willing, with photos, stories and a hangover, I expect.
