I was going to do a catch up for the past 3 days but I think I might have rendered the memory centre of my brain redundant due to excessive alcohol consumption. But I'll do my best.
Friday was... Err, alright. Penny had a bad night. She was feverish and screamy a bit. We thought she might have caught something off her cousin Amelia, who was just getting over something but in the end we put it down to teeth, as her general demeanour was OK. Upon inspection she does appear to have a whole host of gnashers on the cusp of coming through.
Anywho, she was up, on and off all night, and as a result I slept in quite dramatically. She woke me up at about 6:45am, screaming. I panicked, rescued her, gave her to Melissa, dived in the shower and walked briskly (and it was brisk, too. Brisk, there. A word with more than one meaning). The day plodded along, mostly quiet, and then I got home to find Penny asleep and Melissa awake. Penny awoke shortly afterwards and once again was dead hot, like. She was alright, once again, just 'ot.
I left her in Melissa's capable hands and drove to Liverpool to meet Stew and Lea for food and Skyfall, the new Bond film. It was good. Then I drove home, via (the) ASDA for nappies and cat food. I forgot cat food. Melissa was watching X Factor USA and Penny was asleep. That didn't last long though. Bloody teeth. She finally went back to sleep at about 3am. Awake again at 8am. Fantastic.
We went for breakfast at the in laws, as they have some small children from Devon staying with them. We ate and they amused Penny, then we left her there to come home and make ourselves shit-your-pants-scary for an evening with The Cranks at The Holts Arms in Billinge.
We had a great night, and then, after the walk home, things get a bit hazy. I blame the fresh air.
Sunday has been mostly wasted by myself, by sleeping, lazing in bed, and feeling like hammered shit. Melissa went to collect Penny early on and wisely stayed out of my way.
They're home now. With Devonshire kids in tow. I'm now staying out of their way. I might have a shower in a minute. The rest of the evening will be spent eating, and then, with any luck, sleeping. I might make the kids watch an art house Japanese animated movie. I haven't decided yet.
