Friday again. Joy.
Penny woke up at 5:40am which was, I'm sure you'll agree, far too early. Melissa put her dummy back in and we got another 30 minutes out of her. But then it was time for Balamory (joy) and Justin's House (pleasure).
I sprang out of bed just after 7am and dove into the shower and then sprinted to work. Not one of those adjectives is accurate. But you get the general idea.
Work was, for the most part, quite hectic and I was glad to get out of the at 4:20pm. I text Melissa for a lift,. but O2 have had network issues all day and she didn't get it. Or so she claims. I was left standing in the cold for 15 minutes before I phoned the house phone and found her cooking Penny's tea and generally swanning about in the warmth.
I walked home, and on the way phoned my dad to wish him a "happy somethingth birthday". I don't know for sure how old he is, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't know either. He spent his day, from what I could gather, eating food in various volumes. And why not? I could tell that autumn and winter are drawing in as my hand got very cold from holding the phone out in the open. I shall have to invest in some gloves. Or just dig out one of the many pairs I already have hiding around the house.
I cooked tea for the 3 of us and we ate well while Penny smeared strawberry yoghurt over a great many surfaces in her play room. Including her face.
I chucked her in bath while Melissa did the dishes and then we swapped places.
Penny's tired as you like; she's had a busy day. Probably. I don't really know what she does. Shouts and makes mess, mainly, I think.
The key elements of my Halloween costume arrived today. They're sweet. Melissa's not happy with hers and so we're sending it back. She's going to spend the rest of the night trying to find another one, I shouldn't wonder.
I, on the other hand, am cracking a tinny and kicking back with a film.
