Melissa stopped throwing up (when there was nothing left inside her) and rescued me, rocked Penny back to sleep and got back into bed. About 3 hours later she was puking again. About 2 hours after that she was puking again, but this time Penny was awake and it was 6am and time for fucking Balamory. Melissa had a shower and me and Penny endured/enjoyed Balamory, then we went downstairs and I gave her her breakfast while Melissa got some more sleep.
At about 8:30am I took Penny back to bed, and she nodded off, so I got back into bed for some more sleep and at about 10am we were all awake and up and about. Melissa was a little delicate, Penny was in fine fettle. We think Melissa had food poisoning and not whatever Penny had, as so far, touch wood, I've been fine.
Anyway, once Melissa and Penny were packed up they went to Melissa's mum and dads while I had a shower, tidied the house and got ready for my 12:30pm pick up (father in law). My 12:30pm pick up with 30 minutes early and so he had to sit in the playroom and watch TV while I had my shower.
I was then delivered to Ormskirk where I sought a butter pie, a sausage roll and a bottle of water, before jumping a train to Liverpool.
I met Stew at the preordained time of 2pm in Costa and we had a coffee. I had 2 as I'd been waiting for 45 minutes. We then went to Thomas Rigby's and sat in the courtyard and had a pint or two whilst putting the world to rights. When it got a little chilly we went into Lady of Mann and soon after the lovely Loaf arrived with his friend Jan, and then the insatiable Dave Burley arrived. We had a few beers and then headed to The Ship and Mitre for a few more beers, where "little" Dave turned up, shortly followed by "Lea".
Loaf left us and we walked up to the Head of Steam for some more pintage, "little" Dave left us on the way. From there it was up in to Chinatown.
We went to a place that was potentially called Chilli Chilli just on the edge of Chinatown. I had sweet and sour pork, as I always do. It was delicious. I was drunk, of course, but, it was probably the best sweet and sour pork I've had this side of China. But I was drunk, so...

And so, Sunday morning arrived.
I woke up at 4am, despite the fact there was no small child our wife to hassle me. My body hates me, clearly. I dozed then until 8:30am, when it became clear I wasn't getting back to sleep. I went downstairs to make some porridge and a cup of tea. No milk. Fury. I phoned Melissa and she started the conversation with "My dad's doing breakfast. Want me to come and pick you up?" I did. And she did.
I was treated to a hug from Penny and then a more than adequate sausage and egg butty. Penny had a nap and then we came home. My mum and dad came to visit at 1pm and we went out for lunch...
I just had a salad. With bacon, black pudding and a poached egg. It was, as they say round here, "fit". We had a lovely chat and Penny was on fine form, with renditions of all her favourite animals. We bought Christmas decorations, obviously and my dad contemplated buy two large pots. I'm not sure why.
We came home and then Melissa, Penny and myself walked to (the) ASDA, for milk, mainly, but also because Penny was due a nap. We mooched round (the) ASDA for a bit, without Penny having any sleep of any sort and then left. Forgetting the milk, obviously.
We got home, after a minor detour to Ashurt shops for milk. Melissa fed Penny and we watched some shite that Penny likes.
The two of them are in the bath at the moment, and then, Penny will be fed and put to sleep, and I will avoid X Factor and whatever other drivel Melissa has on. I will be relaxing with a film and, to reawrd my liver and kidneys for their hard work yesterday, a beer or two.
Hope you all had a great weekend, and I'll be back tomorrow!
