I'm pleased to report that, other than a minor blip at 3:30am, Penny slept until 6:10am and we couldn't have been happier. Well, Melissa could have been, but she's not been sleeping great.
I got out of bed about an hour later to shower, and upon stepping into the shower, the bathmat gave way underneath me. I slipped, stretch my groin and smashed my knee into the bath panel. I like to think there was an air of dignity about me as I writhed on the bathroom floor clutching my knee while Melissa and Penny offered sympathetic howls of laughter from the bedroom. Being the man that I am, I sucked it up, showered and hobbled to work.
Had a pretty decent day, as Wednesdays go, and walked home via (the) ASDA for bread and yoghurts and soap and found a whingy Penny and an exhausted Melissa. I cooked tea for me and Melissa and just as I was about to dish up Penny went a bit pale, hot, and then spewed her hoop all over the place. Not like the old days with her reflux, she was proper spewing. We waited till she finished and I mopped up and Melissa got in the bath with her where some of the colour returned to her cheeks and she generally perked up considerably.
Once she was clean we brought her downstairs and me and her played while Melissa had her tea, then I did the dishes and Melissa supervised a tired, slightly pale Penny.
She's had a bit of water, and Melissa's giving her a bottle and putting her to bed now, so we'll see what happens.
This evening we'll be mostly sitting on tenterhooks, hoping (probably in vain) for a quiet night.
Thursday tomorrow. See you then!
