Day 561

Just before midnight Penny woke up. I deftly swooped in (once I'd woken up), plugged her grill with a bottle and nursed her back to sleep. She nodded off a few minutes before Melissa came home.

I was awoken around about 3am by an unholy noise coming from the baby monitor, and a suspiciously absent wife. I wondered what was going on. Turns out Melissa was closing
Penny's window over to prevent the abhorrent torrents of rain gushing in. Penny slept through this, thankfully, and woke up at about 6:30 to say "thank you" or some such gibberish.

I didn't chance walking as the rain was on and off, and got a lift with Jeff.

Work was, this morning, pretty damn quiet. This afternoon it was mostly the opposite and I didn't leave until after 4pm.

Fortunately I got home in time for a delicious dinner and to news that Penny has been making her way around the dining room with her walker, unaided by human hands. She's also learned "play dead". I think Melissa may be under the impression we've given birth to a hairless dog of sorts.

Anyway, once we'd eaten tea she went to work (Melissa, not Penny) and Penny and me played for a while, until the grouch monster appeared.

I bathed her and gave her a bottle and, somewhat more reluctantly than yesterday, she went to sleep.

Now it's time for dishes and Masterchef, before TV and bed. I might play me some XBOX but only if I don't fall asleep first.
