Day 530

Saturday. Once more, Penny was keen to get up, and at 5:30am we heard her dulcet tones chunnering through the baby monitor.

We brought her in to our bed where she refused to sleep and so there we were, the three of, watching BabyTV until about... Well, ages later. We gave her a bottle. Wouldn't sleep. We ran out of ideas and then Melissa remembered Penny's Achilles heel.

Thank you, Julie Andrews.
It was just before 10am when we all woke up again, and about 20 minutes someone gave my knocker a damn good banging. It was a delivery man. Or, men, who'd come to deliver Penny's birthday present from grandma and granddad. A swingset, would you believe.

We got ourselves ready and headed up to Melissa's mum and dads for the sun, then my mum and dad, the swing-givers, dropped in. My mum stayed there while my dad and I headed back to our house to assemble the swing and bed it into the ground.

Once that was done, I decided my dad hadn't worked hard enough for his single glass of blackcurrant squash and so made him cut down a tree. Just coz.

Penny, Melissa and my mum arrived back later. They were suitably impressed. I'll take some photos tomorrow. I didn't today as I'd left my phone at Melissa's mum and dads, and also, because it's not quite finished. Tomorrow will be a busy day once again.

This evening, we've bathed Penny and put her to bed. Soon I will drink a well deserved beer and watch a film, while Melissa shouts updates on the Olympics to me from another room.

See you tomorrow!
