6:30am was a reasonable time to wake up.
We got out of bed at 7am or there abouts, after Postman Pat, obviously. Then I gave Penny a bottle while Melissa got ready for work. I dropped her off just before 9am and Penny was nodding off in the car on the way home. "Good" I thought "she'll go to sleep after her porridge" I thought. Bollocks will she.
It was after 10am, and 2 attempts that I finally got her to nod off and it was a blissful 90 minutes later that she woke up for lunch. I changed her shitty nappy, and while I was retrieving more babywipes from their secret hiding place she decided she was going to wee everywhere, too. So that was nice.
She ate her lunch, I ate mine (I'd preprepared today) and then nanny came to take over. I showered and went to work where I stayed until 5pm, when Melissa and I headed home.
I hastily cobbled together a chicken stroganoff with roasted veg and rice and then Melissa bathed Penny and headed out to see a friend. I was left to give Penny her bottle and put her to bed. After Wonder Pets, obviously.
She wouldn't go to sleep at first, but I persevered and won the battle of wills in the end.
Once she was safely asleep I phoned my mum and dad both to catch up with them, and as a procrastination method to keep me away from doing the dishes. Which is what this blog has become today. But I've run out of things to say now, and those dishes wont clean themselves so away I go!
See you tomorrow.
