Day 518

At 3am I was awoken by crippling indigestion and a crying baby. Once I'd sorted her out, I sorted myself out, and then it was bed time again.

6am came around the Penny decided she wanted to get up. 2 hours later we finally got her back to sleep for 90 minutes, at which point we were forced to get up. This parenting lark is not easy.

We had breakfast and I went to (the) ASDA for bread for toast and sandwiches (amongst other things) and then I came home and we tried to get a tired baby to go to sleep. We succeeded and she went off. For 20 minutes, and the she woke up. I'm knackered now, just thinking about it.

Just before 2pm my parents arrived with foam floor mats with numbers on, just as I was returning from Argos with foam floor mats with letters on. Great minds think alike. But not exactly the same, as what would be the use of two lots of floor mats that were the same? None whatsoever. That's what. We set them up in Penny's new play room. She helped.

Once we'd supped lashings of hot tea it was time for me and my dad to head to the tip. We made that back garden our bitch and it's now more or less clear, except for some wood that I plan to use in a future project.

By the time my parents left, Penny was absolutely shattered and falling asleep. I cooked tea and just before I dished it up Penny had a little tiny sleep while we ate, then Melissa went to work and I tried to amuse the now-awake-and-slightly-less-grumpy Penelope.

I'd had enough by 6pm and so made up her bottle and put her to bed. It's 8pm and I haven't heard a peep from her. I'm now going to do the dishes, drink a beer, and either read a book or watch a film.

Bad news: it's Monday tomorrow. See you on the other side!
