Day 488 was Saturday. Penny woke up at 6am, we gave her a bottle, we had a wrestle, then Melissa took her to Slimming World and to see her friend Lorraine. This gave me free reign to sit round in my pants listening to Neil Young and drinking tea.
Once I'd finished my tea I hoovered the house from top to bottom and cleaned the kitchen to within an inch of my life.
Then I had a shower and sat round waiting for Melissa and Penny to get home. And get home they. Penny was fast asleep. I didn't hear them get home and I had my music blasting away. Melissa came upstairs and stood in the door of my office with Penny and she was still fast asleep, despite the fact it sounded like Orbital were doing a live show in my office. She'll sleep through most things, that kid.
I nipped out to see Howard for an hour, during which time it rained like the world was ending. There was even thunder and a bit of hail. Mental.
When I got home, Penny was just waking up. We took her downstairs and plonked her in her little car and waited for my mum and dad to arrive. They turned up just before two, and then the 5 of us went out for lunch at the Wayfarer in Parbold. Great chips. Amazing looking sandwiches. I wouldn't know, though. I had sausage and mash. Which was good, but, next time, butty.
We came home, drank tea, fed Penny and then my mum and dad left and we bathed a mucky, soggy Penny. I had a wrestle with Penny and while Melissa had a shower, then Stew turned up, and we left to pick up Ellen and Andrew, and then went in to Manchester.
Me and Stew went to see Daniel Kitson, Ellen and Andrew went to see some Irish lads.
Kitson was pretty good. I was mildly disappointed though, I don't know why. Quite a poignant show though, none the less. Whatever.
Home, then, said "see ya" to Stew who I will next see at The Dark Knight Rises premier later in July. Excited.
I got into bed, and went to sleep. Melissa had been up all night faffing with her laptop, uploading photos of the Christening and sorting out her camera's memory card.
We all slept admirably but woke up tired. We gave Penny a bottle and put her back to sleep and before knew it was nearly 10am and we'd missed church.
Melissa made us some crumpets and tea and we got ready for the day. It was 11ish before we were on the road to Wigan with a sleepy, full of cold baby. We picked up some cat litter and headed to The Prince William for Lacey and Harry's first birthday party. We had tea and Penny flirted with the boys, then we came home.
As I said earlier, Penny's not been too well today, not that you'd know. She's mainly been a bit snuffley and sneezy, and a bit grouchy. We've given her an earlier bath and bottle than usual, we're going to dose her up with Calpol and put her to bed.
I'm taking a small hiatus from blogging. We're going away for a few days, and I don't know how easy it'll be to update you regularly. When I can I'll post some stuff. Photos and a few words, probably, but I'll knock together a lengthy report once we get back.
See you all soon!
