Day 462 and 463

Bank Holidays have much more meaning when you don't have a 9 month old baby. And that's a good thing. She had us awake by 7am and were up and about and ready for the day. By 9:30am we'd arrived at Melissa's mum and dads house. They were fast asleep. Amateurs. Fortunately we have keys and we barged in and wished my father in law a happy birthday, before Melissa's mum set about putting rollers in Melissa's hair and I amused Penny with the girls, Maggie and Gracie.

By 1:30pm we were out the door and at Matt and Nic's for a barbecue to celebrate The Queen's Diamon Jubilee. We had an excellent time. There was a bouncy castle. What more do I need to say? Penny was well behaved, and we put her to sleep as per her normal routine. We left Matt and Nic's at, like, I don't know... 9pm? And met Melissa's mum and dad in The Stanley for a birthday, then we headed back to theirs to get Penny into bed properly.

Before long we were all asleep and it was Tuesday. A bank holiday Tuesday at that.

Once again we were up and about early, ready, once again to face the day.

We went to the botanical gardens in Southport, and then to Frankie and Benny's for Mel's dads birthday tea.

Penny had an ice cream :

Afterwards we headed home for what should be a nice, relaxing Tuesday evening, before the onslaught of work tomorrow.

See you then, folks! And many thanks to Matt and Nic for excellent barbecue, food, strange Canadian ale, sneaky tequila shot and bouncy castle that nearly crippled me, all to prove a point to an 8 year old that I knew how to do flips. Thank you very much guys!
