So, Tuesday.
Penny was a little restless this morning on a couple of occasions, leading to a somewhat broken sleep. Not the best way to go back into work after a long weekend, but it was alright. I had a lovely walk to work in the crisp spring air and the sunshine beating down.
To my surprise and delight Adam was working today, which meant a trip to the Womble Inn for breakfast binlids. I don't normally partake but this morning, given my hungover state yesterday, I felt I owed it my body. It was delighted.
That done the rest of the morning was par for the course, until lunchtime when I wandered into Specsavers regarding a reminder I'd had for an eye test. I asked to book an appointment and they offered to do me there and then. Who was I to refuse? It was only later when I realised they meant an eye test. Needless to say, my eyes are immaculate, thought the optician suggested I should maybe blink some more. I'm not sure how she could tell that, but that's why I'm not an optician.
Back to work then. Boring.
Walked home with a lovely big smile on my face; I was genuinely happy. I walked through a field and wanted to take a photo, but felt it couldn't possibly encapsulate my joy, so I didn't bother. I got home to an empty house, not even the cats came to greet me. My good mood slowly evaporated.
Then Melissa and Penny came home and I was happy again. Melissa fed Penny while I unpacked the shopping, then we all sat and watched the jewellery shopping channel. Penny's choice.
Once she got bored of that we bathed her, fed her and put her to bed and then I cobbled together a stir fry.
I won a bottle of wine today for some quiz at work. I'm tempted to crack it open and have a glass. I might wait till the weekend though. And then drink it all.
See you tomorrow!
