Sunday. Sort of a lie in. But not really.
We were up and at them by just after 8am. Tea, coffee, toast and out the door to church. Penny was in fine form, singing along like a little cherub. She got bored after Holy Communion and nodded off, and slept then until we got to Melissa's mum and dads, where we unceremoniously dumped her and headed home.
We were on a mission that afternoon. Melissa cleaned the house from head to toe and I stayed out the way in the garden where I continued with the fence painting odyssey I began with my parents so many weeks ago. I managed to for about 3 panels and a gate, and in the middle of all that hack down a massive bush with nought but a blunt junior hacksaw.
I had a shower to cleanse myself of the paint I'd become covered in while Melissa went and collected Penny. Once I was clean I cooked an ace roast dinner for Melissa and myself, then did the dishes, had a wrestle with (a still toothless) Penny and then ran her a bath. Melissa's feeding her at the moment, and then it's bed time.
She's started waking up after about an hour of sleep and just generally whinging whenever we put her back down. Some would say she's spoiled, I'd say she's crafty.
Back to work tomorrow. It's supposed to a very pleasant week this week, if weather reports are to be believed. I look forward to looking staring out the window for 8 hours a day
Joy.
