We both woke up at 6:45 to hear a strange noise coming through the baby monitor, Melissa went to investigate and found Penny fast asleep, and making a funny breathing noise. A bit like Rolf Harris. She was having a dream. Awww. Turns out it was a bad dream, as she woke up a few minutes later, screaming. I got her back to sleep, and then we all dozed for a 45 minutes or so, then I got up and was off to Wigan to get the car serviced.
I had anticipated it taking a while so had made a decision to go to Frankie and Benny's for breakfast. This decision was thwarted when I got to Frankie and Benny's at 8:30am and discovered they didn't open until 9am.
I walked down to the other end of Wigan, to McDonalds, and had an amazing sausage and egg bagel and an average latte, then my mother in law picked me up and brought me home.
At 11:30am she took me back to Wigan to collect the car.
Then, Melissa, Penny and me went into Ormskirk for lunch. We were there for an hour, before heading home to meet my mum and dad who'd come to a) see Penny and b) paint the garden fence.
They accomplished both goals admirably. The fence (although not finished) looks a lot better. My mum even brought cakes for us to eat, that she made. They were very nice. Penny was well behaved and had snuggles with both of them without whinging (she's scared of my dad).
Once they'd left, Melissa had the idea (I don't know where it came from) to go and feed the ducks. So go and feed the ducks we did.
Ducks fed, we stopped at (the) ASDA for a change, where we picked up a naan bread and other essentials, then home to bath, feed and bed Penny. Once again she's been as good as gold, for the most part. She LOVED the ducks (geese, actually) and didn't shut up while we were there. No teeth yet, but they can't be far off. Surely.
It's mushy pea curry for tea again tonight (hence the naan bread). Then beers, then maybe a film. Or maybe headphones and the new Squarepusher album. It's the final of Britains Got Talent tonight.OMG.
I'm shattered. I hope tomorrow is less strenuous.
