Saturday. Not a great night last night. Penny had a bad tummy and lots of wind which made her uncomfortable, and ultimately stopped her sleeping. After about 11pm she woke up on the hour, every hour, until about 4:30am, when daddy snuggled her to sleep. That's me, I'm the daddy.
She woke up at about 7am, and lay in her cot chatting away to herself and me and Melissa dozed, until Penny got bored and I got up, did her meds and attempted to clean her nappy. Holy shit. Literally. I've done shitty nappies before, I have, but this morning... Christ. I made Melissa get up and do it, then I gave Penny her bottle and we all got up and had breakfast. Penny went back for a kip at about 10am and Melissa and I got ready for our family day out.
We drove up into Wigan, I needed a nice new tie, so we parked up, looked at ties, didn't find any and went for coffee and panini's at Starbucks, then went looking for more ties, bought one, and headed up to see Tracy and Dave for coffee and tea. Dave watched in horror while Melissa changed Penny's nappy.
After that we popped in to see Melissa's mum and dad, then we came home. It was after 5pm at this point. IT had been a busy day.
I dropped the girls off and headed to (the) ASDA for some jars of baby food. We're moving back onto that for a few days while Penny's poorly, to see if it settles her tummy. Perhaps beans and waffles are a bit much at the moment. She's still not well with the sneezing and the coughing, but she's not complaining about it. Her bum's still sore, but again, no complaints.
She's had an early night tonight and Melissa and I have enjoyed a ridiculously hot mushy pea curry. It's soon time for a beer or two and either some XBOX or a film. I'm not getting in the way of Melissa's reality TV crap-o-rama.
