Day 405

Easter Sunday. Penny's first.

I was up at 7:30am. I made Penny's breakfast, changed her, fed her, dumped her with Melissa, then made breakfast for Melissa and me, then we showered, changed and were out the door, a mere two hours later.

To church!

I'm a born and raised Roman Catholic, as is Melissa, and we've made the decision (the priest we talked to about baptism did, actually) to attend Sunday mass as often as possible, and what better Sunday to start than Easter Sunday?

It was great. We were welcomed through the doors with open arms, there was a wonderful atmosphere, and several hymns I don't remember ever singing before. Penny was really behaved, occasionally singing along, occasionally squeaking her giraffe, often rattling her keys. We left, committed to, and looking forward to attending next week. Although we won't be, due to it clashing with a Christening at another church.

We left a very busy church at the end of the service, the only mishap being Melissa dropping the host. I'll be surprised if they let us back and headed home to collect supplies for the day, for Penny, and then it was up to the in laws for roast dinner.

My father in law informed me of an Easter egg hunt at the local pub, so we hastened our way there, only to find that we were too old to enter. Instead we had a few pints and headed back for food.

It had all gotten a bit too much for Penny.

She soon perked up when we gave her her Easter pressie.

She perked up further when the squirty cream came out though...

Dinner eaten, we settled down on the couch. But not too long, in case we couldn't be bothered to move. We were up and away and home to bath a sleepy, grumpy Penny.

Melissa's giving her a bottle right now, whilst catching up on Hollyoaks. I will hopefully watch Captain America later, and then get a moderately early night.

Happy Easter, everyone!
