And so it came to pass... Friday, innit.
Penny decided we'd had enough sleep at about 5am and woke us up with a mixture of screams, cries and shouts. It was wonderful. I dozed, sort of, until Melissa chucked Penny in bed with me while she made up a bottle. Penny spent 20 minutes beating me up and then Melissa took her to feed her and put her back to bed. Just as my alarm went off. I gave myself another 20 minutes and dozed some more, then I got up and walked to work.
Graham asked me if I wanted anything from McDonalds this morning. I did. I wanted a large latte. Whilst I was waiting for him to come back, Howard brought me large latte from Subway. I had much too much caffeine this morning and spent a large part of the day shaking and talking nonsense (more so than usual).
Penny and Melissa went swimming this afternoon and I met them at the baths. Melissa's mum was there too, looking after Penny while Melissa got changed. She'd also been to the gym and Melissa's mum had amused Penny with a walk round the shops. Melissa needed to work out her anger and frustration as she's had some fun with HR over her return to work, more on this as the story develops.
We went up to Melissa's mum and dads to drop her mum off and give Penny her dinner and then we headed home. I dropped them off and went to (the) ASDA for some stuff, mainly beer, and came home to find Penny was already bathed and waiting patiently for her tea.
Melissa's cooking tea now, while a tired baby sleeps in her crib. I'm supping a beer, which will turn in to several, before I get into bed later and can't sleep due to the excess caffeine in my system.
Tomorrow we've got a fun day of gardening and going to the tip, hopefully my parents will be coming to visit to help out. But this petrol crisis...
Have a great weekend everyone!
