Got into bed and watch Dancing on Ice with Melissa and then went to sleep. Well, Melissa did. I lay there feeling weird, and being generally uncomfortable. Just as well, really, as I was on baby duty and it was a busy night.
That's not true actually. She was good as gold until about 4am, when she woke up talking rubbish. We let her chat to herself for a bit, then when she got bored and started crying I went in, put her dummy in and she went off for another 2 hours.
6am was time for me to make her a bottle, Penny this is, not Melissa. At about 7am, when she wouldn't go back to sleep, I put her in bed with Melissa and made my self a cup of tea, whilst mentally preparing myself to say goodbye to shitty internet.
The man was due to arrive between 8am and 1pm. And at about 9:15am, probably, he phoned to say he was starting work. It's now almost 11 hours later and I've JUST finished getting everything how I like it. To give him his dues, there wasn't really anyone to blame, both BT and Sky were very professional and helpful. I spent almost 45 minutes on the phone to Sky while they talked me through my wireless connectivity issues, and in the end, together, we sorted the problem out.
Then, my mum and dad arrived. We drank tea and the five of us went out for a belated mothers day lunch/tea to the Miller and Carter steakhouse on Parbold Hill. It was nom. Penny's paying the price now. She gorged herself on rice pudding, hearty cottage pie and three different flavours of ice cream. She's currently grumping about, with what looks like belly ache. Serves her right, I suppose, but it's not nice. She's just spewed on Melissa, I didn't laugh. Probably the ice cream playing on her lactose intolerance. Didn't really think that through, did we?
I've now completely configured my internet, including overcoming some new issues I don't recall ever facing before, and I'm pleased to report speeds well in excess of what I was getting before. It'll take a few days for it to settle down, though.
Now, to bed, to watch Alcatraz. I hope it's good.
See you tomorrow.
