Day 384

I was in work at 2am this morning for a project that was supposed to take about 4 hours. I was sent home before 3am as the project had hit a stumbling block and had been cancelled. Score. Of course, when I got home I couldn't sleep and contemplated getting out of bed and drinking heavily until I passed out. I decided against that, and pretty soon I dozed off and then it was about 10am.

I got up and made myself a hearty breakfast.

That eaten, I set about tidying the house. Hoovering and what not. I also cleared out the shoe cupboard. I have several pairs of shoes, I'll not deny it. I didn't count, but there's probably about 6 pairs in there that are mine. That's a lot. I know. It might be more than that, perhaps 10. I'm not apologising. There was easily about 40 pairs in there that were Melissa's. I stacked them semi-neatly and got bored so left it. The man from BT is coming tomorrow to sort out my fibre internet, and the main phone socket is under the stairs. I didn't tidy up for any other reason. So, between 8am and 1pm tomorrow I'll be stood at the window like some sort of demented internet-obsessed meerkat.

After that was done I went for a walk to (the) ASDA to buy some tea for tonight, a special mothers day tea. I knocked up a sort of risotto type dish that we both like, and for afters we had cheesecake. Not home made, but delicious nevertheless.

Oh, yeah, they got home at about half past four and Penny had shit all up her back and everywhere, just for me. I took her upstairs to change her but gave up when I couldn't figure out how to get her top off. She was pleased to see me though, or it could just be that I had food for her. It's hard to tell.

She was tired and a bit grumpy, Melissa informs me her teeth have been giving her a bit of grief, so we bathed her, I phoned my mum to wish her "happy mother's day", then we fed Penny and put her to bed.

I cooked the aforementioned tea, then Melissa ran a bath. Penny woke up, cried, we Calpol'd her and put her back down.

This evening, I expect I'll be getting in bed to watch TV with Melissa. But I'm definitely going to be drinking beer between now and then.

Hope you all had a great Mothers Day.

See you tomorrow, on hopefully my new faster than light internet connection!
