Day 372

Today didn't start out much better than yesterday. Penny woke up around 2am, chunnering and squawking away down the baby monitor. She refused to go back to sleep until about half 3. Maybe later. I don't know. I was trying to sleep. Anyway, she slept, then, until at least after I left for work at 7:40am.

I walked to work through one of my favourite weather conditions, thick fog, and settled in for another shit storm. Oh, I forgot to mention, I was called back into work last night for about an hour, thus thwarting my plan to drink beer, and also ruining my new game. Although it's a shit game anyway.

Anyway, I beavered on and we worked through the problems and fingers crossed we're more or less sorted. By the time the afternoon came around I was in no mood to do any more work, but I did, and I'm knackered again now. Fun.

Melissa picked me up from work having been to (the) ASDA and then, when we got home I played with Penny for ages while Melissa cooked tea. We watched some of Tron Legacy (shit) and a bit of Mary Poppins (timeless) then Melissa and I ate our tea while Penny sat in her jumperoo. She hasn't shut up all day. Except when she's been eating. Melissa bought her some organic baby snacks, such as tomato wheels, carrot puffs and sweetcorn rings. She had a couple of carrot puffs. Loved them.

Anyway, Melissa took her to bath her and I made up her bottle (while it was cooling I ripped out some more of the panelling in the downstairs toilet to assist the BT Openreach engineer who, admittedly isn't coming for almost two weeks). I made her 7ozs instead of her normal 6 in the hope she'll sleep a bit better tonight. The results of the lactose free milk have so far been quite positive, although we're reserving judgement until she's been on it for about week.

Right now I'm living in fear of another phone call from work, whilst cautiously looking forward to a beer. Phone just rang... False alarm, it was my parents. Phew.

Melissa's just nipped out so I'm in charge of our sleeping angel for the time being...

Fingers crossed this evening goes better than yesterday, and tomorrow goes better than both Monday and today.
