Day 371

To give you some sort of indication of how my Monday was I'm going to post a photo that encapsulates my working day.

It's a bin for dogshit. Admittedly it's a brand spanking new bin for dogshit. But it's a bin for dogshit nonetheless.

Penny woke up at 4am. Dozing between then and 7am isn't the same as sleeping, and so when my alarm went off I argued myself out of bed, into the shower, out the door and off to work.

Now, you know a day's going to start bad when you realise you're the most senior member of staff on your team. I was thrown a problem to deal with, had trouble finding assistance despite my best efforts, but me and a colleague worked our way through it, came up with the solution and we were both quite pleased with ourselves. After that I had 2 meetings, back to back, then lunch. A blessed break and some fresh air, then more shit after that.

I suppose, in retrospect, it wasn't too bad a day, it was just very busy, and I was very tired. Still, I got a lovely video message from Melissa of Penny blabbering away to no one. She's been very good, again, today. Chatting away, making all sorts of mental noises with her mouth.

We're just about to put her to bed, and then it's time to relax. I've decided to have a few beers tonight, to make up for my almost booze free weekend. I will also be playing a new game on the XBOX, having completed Alan Wake last night.

We're trying Penny on lactose free milk for the next few days to see if that affects her reflux. Melissa's convinced she's lactose intolerant, so she's gotten hold of some lactose free milk to try out her theory (thank you Emma and Harry). I'll keep you updated on that.

See you tomorrow.
