Day 370

Feeling much better today, thanks for asking.

Howard arrived a little after 5pm yesterday to drive us to Liverpool to see Stewart Lee, and I was feeling close to fine. When we got there I had a bottle of Volvic water (my personal favourite of the bottle water varieties) and a Toffee Crisp (there is no finer chocolate bar). Then we went for a pint in the Philharmonic pub. A wise choice, as it really settled my stomach. The pint, not the pub, the pub was packed and quite claustrophobic. Nice pint though.

We went to the venue then, all of 40 yards away, and took our (rather excellent) seats.

We got an excellent two hours of really good comedy. Very impressive stuff. And afterwards we queued up in the bar to meet him and get some stuff signed. I wish I'd taken my Fist of Fun DVDs with me that Melissa bought me for Christmas. But I didn't, and so bought his latest book. He signed it and we had a brief chat about real ale. I didn't ask him to pose for a photo as it felt weird and awkward, and the Lord knows how it must make him feel. I also didn't shake his hand for fear of passing on my disease.

Home, then, and I was shattered. Physically exhausted rather than tired. I found it hard to get to sleep, but when I did I really did.

It was 7am before I had to give Penny a bottle. She's been a little star as usual today. Always so pleasant. I'm sure she'll make up for it when she reaches her teenage years. We took her to Chesire Oaks to meet my parents for lunch and coffee. I found myself buying another pair of Adidas Star Wars shoes. Four now. I have a weakness for geeky merchandise, and anything that is advertised as a "collection". I feel compelled to try and buy everything in that "collection". Fortunatly, I don't have much space or cash.

Home, then and I gave Penny her dinner while Melissa cooked ours. Then we all played in front of the TV, Penny continuing her pleasantness. She's ace, she is.

Bed time now. Melissa's bathed her, is feeding her, and will then I assume have a bath herself. I will shortly do the dishes, then attempt completion of Alan Wake on the XBox before an early night.

See you tomorrow.
