Day 354

Friday, at long last. It's been a long and busy week. This evening was no exception. I'll get to that in a minute.

Woke up a couple of times through the night, Melissa seems to have developed Penny-deafness which is a condition that means basically if Penny wakes up in the night Melissa just lies there snoring. Now, I don't mind Penny being awake, as long as she's not being too loud, but after 30 minutes of her gurgling away and chatting to no one, the fact that I'm awake means mu bladder is awake too, and I have to get up and go for a wee. Twice that happened last night. I was pretty exhausted by 7am when my alarm went off. Add that to the fact that the room was freezing, I really had trouble getting out of bed. But, with Penny fast asleep I crept up, showered, changed, cleaned the cat litter out and made my way stealthily to work.

Another typical, where things come in fits and starts, but Melissa picked me up at 4pm and then it was home to hang our new curtains, amuse a grumpy, tired Penny and have my tea before Stewart arrived and we were off to Manchester.

I must point out at this juncture that Penny is still without teeth and is now coping admirably with the teething process. She sleeps well through the night and doesn't really nap during the day, so come about 5pm she's exhausted. Melissa had her weighed yesterday, which I forgot to mention, she's 15lb6oz. Which explains why my back hurts. She's almost sitting up on her own and is chewing most things she can get her hands on. She's developed an interest in the cats and tries to stroke them whenever she gets the chance and she is, in generally, awesome.

Anyway, back to Manchester. Ages ago, Stew bought me a ticket to go and see Jay and Silent Bob Get Old, which is basically a live blog of sorts with film-maker and 'actor' Kevin Smith and his little mate and occasional 'actor' Jason Mewes. I'm a big fan of the films the two of them have made and Stew is pretty keen on Kev as a film maker, so it was a good thing for us to go and see. The tickets said the start time was 6:30pm, so we had a bit of a mad dash to get there in time. We needn't have worried, they didn't come out until after 8pm. Still, when they did they were very funny for what was basically two men sat round talking about their penises and a dying dog for two hours.

We headed to the car and, just by the entrance to the car park we saw this :

It's not easy to make out, as I was conscious about taking photos dues to the amount of coppers about, but there was a load of emergency service chaps and they'd apparently cordoned off the car park. On closer inspection, and after direction from one of the police officers we went via the back entrance (oo er), and found the car. One of the security guards said "they found some chemicals or summet". I've had a search and found nowt, but I'll look again tomorrow.

Now, to bed I must go, for Penny is meeting her great grandparents tomorrow and we must all be in fighting form.

Good night y'all, and have an excellent weekend.
