Day 343

Monday. Penny slept, on and off, most of the night. I woke up at 7am feeling fresh as a daisy and ready to face the day. Melissa was up shortly afterwards and fed Penny. They went back to bed then until 10:30am. I went to work. I had planned to walk through the freezing fog with an umbrella (genuinely. I read this back and it sounded sarcastic, but I love walking in the rain with a brolly. And the fog. Fog is my favourite weather state after snow), however I was running a little late, and Ellen had offered me a lift, and who am I to refuse such a kind offer?

Work on a Monday is typically quite busy. Today was no exception. I was, as usually relentlessly bullied at every opportunity by my colleagues. They claim they're only joking (they don't claim that all, they're just mean to me at every given chance), but it still hurts. I find cutting myself in the toilet cubicles helps though.

I left work quite a bit after 4pm, having made the foolish mistake of asking the colleagues I mentioned above the best place to get a bottle of vinegar from. Forsaking several foolish answers, and eventually deciding I didn't even need or want a bottle of vinegar, Jeff (ringleader of the tormentors) gave me a lift to (the) ASDA where I did indeed buy a bottle of vinegar and some other stuff.

I walked home and on the way was warned to avoid "spider-dogs" and zombies by a small boy who looked like he knew what he was talking about.

I made it home without encountering neither a spider-dog nor a zombie and made chips for tea while Melissa and Penny were at Slimming World.

I ruined Melissa's tea by pouring the above vinegar all over it. I assumed that if I removed the lid it would have a small opening through which to splash drops of vinegar over the delicious chips I'd made. That wasn't the case, I merely opened the bottle and pour about 4 tablespoons of vinegar over Melissa's scampi, chips and mushy peas. Fortunately, by the time I came to apply vinegar to my tea I'd figured out the tricky lid system and I really enjoyed mine.

That eaten, and just as we were finished a tired baby started to get grumpy. We bathed her, fed and and Melissa is just about to put her to bed, after which I'll be doing the dishes and then, who knows what awaits me. Melissa's well into a book at the moment, so that's her evening sorted. I'm harder to please.

See you tomorrow.
