And so it came to pass that it was Sunday. We all slept well. Melissa and I tried to watch a film but Melissa lost patience with the slow plot and Welsh accents, so I watched the end on my own, then we went to bed to read.
And then we slept. All of us. Until about 7:30am. Bliss.
We all woke up, I changed Penny and fed her and we all had a bit of a doze then got up.
I risked life and limb in the freezing cold and ice for a walk to the shop for 2 pints of milk, then came home and made breakfast; I couldn't have a bacon butty without a cup of tea.
That done I set to work tidying my office. And what a challenge. I'm very pleased with the results. I cleared enough space to get to the window and install the curtain rail we bought the other week and hang the Batman curtain that Melissa bought me even longer ago. I love my office.
Had trouble getting my Kindle working, so spent 20 minutes talking to Amazon tech support; very helpful, then cooked a lovely roast for me and Melissa while Penny threw temper tantrums due to fatigue and because we wouldn't give her any yoghurt.
I phoned Penny's great grandad today to wish him happy eightysomethingth birthday, he sounded well, as did my Penny's great grandma. They live in the Welsh wilderness and we were a little worried about them due to the hideous weather we've had, but they were fine and dandy.
We tried to give Penny a nap this afternoon but she was having none of it, and as a result is properly shattered now. We've had to put her to bed early as she was falling asleep in her jumperoo. I hope she doesn't wake up at midnight wanting to play.
Back to work tomorrow.
Joy.
