Day 319

Saturday. A good nights sleep for all of us. Penny woke at about 3am, which coincided nicely with me needing a wee. I put her dummy back in and we heard nothing from her until 7:50am. Result.

We Skyped my mum and dad and brother and his fiancée and then set about our day.

Penny's been poorly sick today. Sneezey, coughy and a bit whingey. But not very whingey. We headed over to the Wirral for some fresh air and a lovely walk. On our way past Earlston Park I saw an old friend and pulled over the car to confuse him. He was well. He was shocked that I was married, and more shocked that I was a father. He said he'd email me, but doesn't have and has never had my email address. He was always a bit weird though.

I don't know if you know the Wirral but New Brighton has, for some time, been undergoing a serious renovation. It was, for want of a better a description "a bit of a shit hole". There was big empty spaces of dirt and just... There wasn't much there, it was certainly nothing like it was in its heyday. The renovation project, called "Project Neptune", is more or less complete, and so I decided, for our walk, we'd go there and have a look around.

We were all very impressed. There's a cinema, Morrison's, Café thing, massive Home & Bargain and, most importantly of all, a Starbucks. Which is where we went first. Because Penny needed a bottle. And daddy needed a latte.

Cinema in the background.

"I want my bottle!"

After our coffees we had a lovely walk along the prom. It was really cold, but really invigorating. Then we headed home, via the in laws to say "hello" and give Penny another bottle.

Home then, via (the) ASDA for batteries for Violet the Singing Dog. And my WiiMote. We were late, so while I cooked tea Melissa bathed Penny and gave her bottle, then put her to sleep, dosed up with Calpol.

We're hoping to watch a lovely film together this evening. Fingers crossed Penny's settled now and we can go about our business.

See you tomorrow!
