Saturday started as no Saturday should : at 4am.
Penny woke, singing and bleating and we tried valiantly to get her to nod back off but to no avail. And so, at about 5:30am, I went and made her a bottle, fed her, put her back down, and we all slept then for another couple of hours.
At about half 9, after a tasty lie in for myself, giving Melissa a chance to give Penny her porridge and a bottle, I got up, sat with Penny while Melissa got ready, then she took Penny up to her mums for the afternoon while we cleaned the house and made the final preparations to Penny's room for her first night in her big girls bed.
We worked hard this afternoon, and the house is spick and span (racist?).
We had a lovely tea while Penny played in her jumper-roo and then brought her up stairs to see her new room layout. She was ambivalent at best, but waited patiently for her bath and bottle.
That done, we checked the baby monitor was set up, and put her down.
If all goes well, Melissa and I will be watching a lovely film together, with the volume right down, staring at the baby monitor for the duration.
Tomorrow. Sunday. Hopefully less stressful than today.
Hopefully.
See you!
