Should have been day one of the new year, but it's a bank holiday. On going to bed last night Melissa had said "Ooo, we can have a pyjama day tomorrow!"
Imagine my surprise, when at 10am, after a lovely lie in, she said "Right, we'll say goodbye to Dave and the girls, feed Penny and then we'll go to Wigan, to (the) ASDA and Next and Pets At Home". Yeah, enthusiastic I was not.
But, sure enough, we said "goodbye" to Dave and the girls, fed Penny and we were on our way to Wigan, with Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits to take the edge off.
Much to my surprise, Wigan was on the whole quite quiet and we got the shopping done with minimal fuss.
Home, then, to feed the little one and then ourselves. Like most of you (I expect) our new years diets started today. So, to ease us in gently we had the Managers Special from Domino's, extra nachos and a bottle of Coke between us. It took me an eternity to get up the stairs.
Penny's teeth have been bothering her today, she's been a bit sicky and she's running a bit of a temperature , so she's on the Calpol before bedtime.
I'm hoping for an early night myself as it's back to work tomorrow, but I lost 3 hours of my life to Zelda last night, and I fully anticipate that happening again tonight.
Penny's got her next lot of jabs tomorrow, so that'll be fun. And I'm going to the cinema with my father in law to watch The Girl With the Dragon tattoo... That's just a sneak peak.
The above is photo from midnight on new years eve/new years day. kids running round, gloveless, on the wet tarmac being supervised by pissed up adults. Which is what new year is about, isn't it?
See you tomorrow!
