Day 296/297

Wednesday seems like so long ago, I can't remember a great deal. I remember work being busy, I remember Melissa picking me up from (the) ASDA after I'd done a gentle shop and then I remember driving to Liverpool, to Stew's flat, to get in his car and go with him to Manchester, to the IMAX to watch Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol (and the first 6 minutes of The Dark Knight Rises again).

The drive home was somewhat annoying, not just because of the incessant Christmas music, but because the M62 was closed and we were taken on a crazy detour round the arse end of nowhere which added about 25 minutes onto our journey.

All tolled I got home at 1:10am, made my lunch for Thursday and got into bed. The next thing I knew, I was awake and it was 7am.

Thursday wasn't too bad at work. The problems from earlier in the week seemed to have been resolved/brushed under the rug, and I could get back to scouring the internet for Batman tidbits whilst trying not to fall asleep.

While I did this, Melissa baked some (loads) lovely gingerbread biscuits and made the house smell all Christmassy.

I walked home from work at a pace, via (the) ASDA, collecting a pizza and some beers. When I got home Melissa was waiting, cooking up some nibbles for us and our guests, Tracy and Dave who came round to exchange Christmas gifts and have a bit of a catch up. I showed them the Dark Knight Rises trailer, and then showed off to dave on MW3 while Melissa and Tracy bathed a grumpy Penny.

Later on, Nanny came round to watch Penny while Melissa and I went to (the) ASDA (three times in two days, a potential new record) to pick up our Christmas shop. We'd hoped it would be nice and quiet after 8pm. We were wrong. We'd hoped to buy food to see us through the festive period. We bought mainly booze, cheese and a bin.

After an hour of madness and a nascent headache we headed home, unloaded the car and I finally wrapped Melissa's Christmas presents.

This is being posted from my mother's laptop, as my PC won't connect to the internet. Fine time for that to happen. Exhaustion is driving me to bed, so I'll bid you all adieu.

All things being equal, I'll be back tomorrow evening.

3 More sleeps.
