Day 295

I woke up at about 7am to the sound of rain battering against the window and a small baby gurlging and chirruping away. As you can imagine, both of those sounds made me want to stay home.

(Un)fortunately, the rain stopped and the baby started screaming, so I went to work. I wish I hadn't, it's been a horrible day. I usually work 8am to 4pm, I was there until 5pm tonight. It's been a busy couple of days, and I don't expect it to get any better.

Meanwhile, on the other side of  my lovely family unit, Melissa and Penny went to meet Santa today with Emma and her little boy Harry. Penny loved it and many photos were taken. Then, to add insult to injury, they went off to Pizza Express. Typical. Serves me right for earning a living, I suppose.

After my extended working day I was lucky enough to get a lift home in time to see Penny eating her carrots and potatoes, and Melissa had thoughtfully recorded Pointless for me, so it wasn't all bad.

After Pointless I cooked some tea for us, then we bathed and fed Penny. She's been a little star today by all accounts. Santa must have had a word about his "naughty list" to her.

This evening I'm required to hoover the house and I think there was something else, but I've forgotten now. I hope Melissa doesn't remind me.

5 more sleeps!

See you tomorrow.
