Day 291

Slept well, woke up to snowfall, but of course I had to drive in to work due to a cumbersome secret Santa present.

Coldest it's been in recent memory.
I got to work and the snow stopped. I got to my desk, and as I was plugging my laptop in I glanced out the window wistfully and noticed that, yes, it was snowing. Typical. Then all of a sudden the fire alarm went off; the building would have to be evacuated. A chance to frolic in the snow! Alas, by the time we got to the assembly point the snow had once again stopped.

We were sent back inside when it had been established that some tit had burned their toast. What a busy day it was. It snowed almost all morning, and by lunchtime, me and Howard decided to wander over to the Concourse for some fresh air (and a frolic in the snow). Of course by the time we got outside it had stopped. While we were in the Concourse, I happened to look outside and notice it was snowing again, but it had of course stopped by the time we came to walk back to work. It then pretty much stopped.

The rest of the afternoon was something of a nightmare of business and confusion. I've decided to have a (some) beer(s) tonight. Melissa 'made' me have a glass of wine with tea, too.

Penny's been good today. Sickness has been at a minimum, although we don't know if that's because of her medicine, or because she's just having a good day. One thing's for certain though, she lurves carrot and potato, and she now knows that a brightly coloured plastic spoon means food. She was even putting an empty spoon to her own mouth later on. Clever girl.

We bathed her, fed her, and then when Melissa wasn't doing it right, Penny snatched the bottle from her and took control of the situation admirably. Then she realised it was too heavy and reluctantly gave Melissa the bottle back.

This evening, MW3 and beer for me. Melissa is most likely going to catch up on her TV and had a glass of wine.

Tomorrow I'm traipsing into Liverpool to buy Melissa's Christmas presents. Yes, I know, last minute, suicide, insanity. All are appropriate, but, once I've got everything... Beer. And maybe, just  maybe, a chance to frolic in the snow.

Have a great weekend.
