Day 262

Penny out slept me last night. Very impressed. She went down just after 8pm and woke up after me at a little after 7am.

I walked to work, the pigeon from yesterday was still there but slightly less intact, and somewhat peculiarly I also saw some horse shit. "How unusual" I thought.

Melissa booked Penny in to the doctors today over her refluxing. The doctor couldn't really do much and has booked her in with the specialist to see what they can do. Hopefully they'll prescribe a new formula, rather than any fancy medicines, but we needn't worry about her not putting on weight, as she's now a chunky 10lb11oz.

Work was good. Busy. Kept me occupied. Melissa picked me up at 4pm, then went out to see a friend. I was left literally holding the baby. I gave her a bottle, using a number 3 teat (that means the opening is bigger)., and she inhaled it. It was gone in seconds. She hadn't had a shit for a couple of days, and we knew she was due one, my only hope was that she'd hold it in until Melissa got home. She didn't. About 2 minutes after Melissa left, I heard a noise that can on be described as "like a baby shitting in a nappy".

Ladies and gentlemen I'm pleased to announce I changed my first shitty nappy. It didn't even take me ages. I took Penny back downstairs, sat her in her doughnut and had a play with her. She was very pleasant, despite quite a bit of spewage. She started getting a little rowdy just before Melissa arrived home, but I settled her down and we had a quiet evening.

I cooked tea, we ate, Penny was bathed, I fed her again, another number 3 teat, she guzzled it down faster than you can imagine, burped, sicked a tiny bit, and then we put her to bed. As we were gazing adoringly at out beautiful daughter I spotted out the corner of my eye two mounted police officers (policemen/women on horseback, nothing kinky). There's been some "trouble" recently, and it's good to see the the Lancashire police force are trying to do something about it, with a visible police presence.

This evening I plan on playing some MW3 and drinking a beer, Melissa is going to be watching TV in bed, Penny will no doubt be snoring her little teeny tiny head off.

See you tomorrow.
