Although Penny is sleeping well, her waking up between 5am and 6am is destroying me. I never get back to sleep properly and as a consequence I'm falling asleep at work from about half 2 onwards.
Fortunately, today, Melissa met me from work at 3pm instead of 4pm and we went to the doctors with Penny to get her 8 week jabs. Even though she's 11 weeks tomorrow. Who's counting? Apparently flu jabs are more important than baby immunisations.
I had planned to go in with Melissa and Penny, but unfortunately prams weren't allowed, so I had to stayin the waiting room with the pram. Just as well, apparently she screamed quite a bit. Two needles, one for each leg. After that though she was well behaved, a proper little soldier.
We walked home, pottered and tinkered and then I fed her, fending off vomit and burps, and we put her in her swing for a kip while we ate tea. Just after 7pm, however, she awoke. And screamed. And screamed. And screamed. She's still screaming now, at 8pm. It comes in waves. We think it's a combination of the jabs, and wind/acid/poo. She's certainly calmed down now... But it was a stressful hour.
Melissa has her now, keeping her quiet until her next feed at about 9pm, when we'll give her some Calpol and the 3 of us will have an early night. Hopefully one during which we all get a bit of sleep!
Fingers crossed.
