Saturday. Early start, cinnamon bagels and tea for breakfast, then Melissa went out, taking Penny with her. She dropped her at her mums then went to see her friend Emma and helped her put her rollers in her hair.
I painted 5 doors with shitty primer. It took far too long, the paint was shit, and because I was blasting Orbital really loudly I think my subwoofer might have died. Woe is me.
Melissa came home at about 2pm and we had lunch and watched some TV, then we got ready to go out for my birthday meal. We drove to Melissa's mum and dads house, said hello to Penny and then, just as she kicked off big time Melissa's dad dropped us off at Mr Elephant on the Rainford bypass. It's an Indian restaurant and it was pretty good. The food was excellent, but the service was pretty shoddy. My mates Stew, Mike and John along with Lea, Hannah met us there (early, surprisingly) and already had pints and poppadoms. We joined them, got a drink each, more poppadoms, ordered, were served, ate and were given dessert in about 1hour. We then asked for more drinks and the bill and it took almost as long for the drinks and bill to turn up as it did for the for food earlier. Still, the food was very nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a little slow. At times.
We then got a lift back to Mel's mum and dads to see Penny (who'd calmed down considerably), we watched some TV and went to bed.
Sunday, birthday, 29 today.
We woke early. But really a decent time, it's just the clocks went back today, so my head was all over the place. We said "good morning" Penny, then I opened my pressies. She'd somehow bought me socks, aftershave and other various smellies. I'd love to know where she gets her money from. Melissa's mum and dad had bought me a bottle of wine and Spider-Man pyjamas. I'm easy to please. Melissa had bought me Kindle. Win.
After a breakfast we went back to bed and dozed for a bit.
Sometime later we re-awoke, showered and changed, then loaded up the car and went to see my mum and dad for Sunday/Christmas dinner.
They'd bought me an awesome Batman/Joker tshirt and model of the DeLorean from Back To The Future 3. It's ace. My dad insisted it stayed in the box. I had other plans.
Aunty Anne, Uncle Dennis, Uncle Lawrence and Aunty April turned up for tea, cake and a natter, I fixed my mums laptop and, once everyone had left we had an epic Christmas Dinner.

We had Christmas dinner, followed by a 2 year old Christmas pudding (mega noms) and then headed home, stuffed.
We went back to Melissa's mum and dads as we'd been promised fireworks by next door (Sophie, now 6, shares my birthday) but they were late back from Gullivers World and I could feel myself slipping into a food induced coma, Penny was due a feed and so we headed home.
After some pottering and tinkering Penny was fed while Melissa watched the X Factor results, I played with my Kindle, then we watched An Idiot Abroad. We both nearly died when Karl got in the monster truck, Penny was confused and the less said about the cats the better.
Melissa is watching Big Brother in bed, Penny is asleep, I'm going to make my lunch for tomorrow and do a combination of both. Get into bed, and sleep.
After this glass of birthday wine, that is.
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes, see you tomorrow!
