Another cracking night's sleep, Penny slept until a little after 6, which sort of annoyed me, because I couldn't get back to sleep in time for a final doze before my 7am alarm. I got up, showered, Melissa fed Penny and they both went back to bed whilst I went to work.
Another lovely autumnal stroll into work this morning, the clocks go back in a few weeks so that'll be nice. Eerie sort of mornings, while it gets cooler and darker. It supposed to be incredibly cold by the end of the month, but then since when have weathermen been able to predict the weather, let alone the future.
Work was moderately uneventful, though I did travel to one of our smaller sites with Howard for a meeting about the new building they're supposed to be building and we're supposed to be moving in to in a few years. We went to their canteen for lunch and it was much better than ours, despite being run by the same catering company. Go figure.
Afterwards we drove back to our building and sat in the car listening to jazz while we waited for a car park space to open up. Nice.
I got a lift a lift home from work from Ellen again and arrived shortly before Melissa, her mother and Penny who'd been to Aintree to do some shopping (including Christmas shopping *sigh*). Melissa then cooked us tea and we bathed Penny, again in the big bath, but with a slight twist :
Mummy got in the bath too! (that's Melissa to you and me). Penny loved it. Ne'er a tear was shed... Until I had to lift her out the bath, wrap her up and put her on the changing table while Melissa got out of the bath.
Today I also completed stage one of nappy training. Before I put Penny in the bath with Melissa I had to strip her. Penny, not Melissa. She'd done a bit of a shit so I had to clean her. Penny, not Melissa. I think I did OK, too. I also dressed her after her bath. Penny, not Melissa. Whatever. I'm a dad. Get over it.
Once all this was done we watched the finalé of The Great British Bake Off. It was really good.
Melissa is now watching Hollyoaks and feeding Penny while I write this, then I think Melissa will be ironing while I keep out of her way. Seems like a good deal to me.
Thursday tomorrow, for those of you who're keeping track.
Bye!
