Melissa got to sleep at about 5am and I dozed on and off between midnight and 5 myself. At about half 8 I got up and fed Penny while Melissa had a couple of hours peace.
Then, Melissa got up, I made us breakfast and we got Penny ready for her day out to see everyone at my mum and dads house. I dressed her, reasonably well, and off we went.
First stop was Stew's mums house. She had a cuddle of Penny and she gave us a lovely elephant teddy bear. It's more for Penny than me and Melissa, if I'm honest. Then we headed to my mum and dads house.
Cousin Andrew, granddad, great uncle Gerard, Dad (me) and Penelope, great uncle Lawrence, great uncle Dennis
Cousin Heather, Mum (Melissa), great aunty Jackie, great aunty April, great aunty Anne (with Penny), great aunty Alice, Grandma.
Awkward!
When no more cake could be eaten, everyone left and grandma and granddad had some quality time with Penelope. I went into the garden to admire the chillis my mum and dad had grown. I picked one, asked if it was hot, was told "yes" and still ate it down in one bite. I nearly died. I drank two pints of milk to quench the fire. It did not work. I just had to ride out the storm.
Then we settled down for tea. Grandma prepared an excellent casserole dish with yummy sprouts and Yorkshire puds, followed by a suicidal lemon meringue pie.
We then packed up and headed home. We're both exhausted beyond words, but Melissa I watching X Factor and then we'll both watch the conclusion to Appropriate Adult on ITV. Probably.
Work again tomorrow. Fewer words and pictures tomorrow night, I should imagine.
Fingers crossed for a solid nights sleep tonight. I may decamp to the couch.
Bye!
