Last night we saw a spider. It was a big spider. I'd say about at least 3 inches across. I almost caught it, but I shit myself, and decided to get a bigger glass. I looked up and it had vanished. He's now loose about the house.
Terrifying.
Penny slept through, save for a change and a feed at about 4am. I walked into work this morning, a slightly longer than usual route as my usual route was blocked by flooding. It rained, but I had my music on and I was still half asleep. It was slightly surreal. In a good way.
Work was dreadfully boring this the morning, as I was stuck in a 3 hour disaster recovery workshop. After that it picked up a bit though.
Melissa met me from work, we came home and I mentally prepared myself for looking after Penny for the evening... I needn't have bothered though, as the friend Melissa was going to see, Jade, came to visit us instead with her four year old daughter Olivia. Melissa and Jade chatted in the kitchen while I looked after Penny and watched Disney's Tangled with Olivia. It was good. I've known Olivia for most of her life. When I first met her she was a gurgling little baby... She's a proper little girl now, chatty, intelligent and funny. And starting school on Friday.
My brother and his fiancée have sent Penny a gift, but they want to watch us open it. Frustratingly they live in New Zealand so setting up a Skype date is going to prove tricky as they're about 12 hours ahead of us. They tried calling tonight, but we were busy and didn't hear them. We've set something up for tomorrow night though, so fingers crossed.
Midwife came today, Penny is up to 7lbs, she's gained 8oz in 6 days, which is excellent. We've been given the go ahead to feed her when she wants feeding, so we're trying that tonight. Gonna give her her last feed at about half 11, and then see what happens.
See you tomorrow, hopefully with details of the mystery parcel...
Bye!
