Due to the pressure and stress of waking up for work, I didn't actually sleep particularly well last night, and awoke to the dulcet sounds of it pissing down.
I text Jeff, the man who may remember dropped me at home after the fateful call from Melissa on the 17th of August, asking for a lift to work and while I waited for him I hung my lanyard round my neck like a sort of symbolic noose, and trudged outside to wait. He arrived to pick me up, in a sort of symbolic bookend like gesture, and off to work we went.
Work was OK, it wasn't hard to slip back into the routine and I didn't face quite the barrage of questions I thought I might have (of?) done.
Melissa and Penny picked me up at 4pm and we headed to Wigan, to (the) ASDA for some bathroom and baby related supplies. We bought towels, a soap dish, light pull, bin, bog brush, an unconscionable volume of soaps and cleansing liquids, and a bottle of olive oil.
Then we headed to the in laws for tea, then home. I watched the baby while Melissa had a bath. There was a shaky moment when I started running Melissa's bath, and closed the bathroom door over, only to find it wouldn't open again as the spindle had slipped. Fortunately it's a deep bath and there was little chance of it spilling over in the time it took me to locate a screwdriver.
Absolutely shattered now. We bought a smaller watt bulb for the bedside lamp so the room should be darker tonight which should aid my sleeping. I'm feeling less pressure tonight though. Hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow and I'll be able to walk in. Alas, it seems Autumn is drawing in now.
See you tomorrow!
